{Personal Information}
Personality: Mary is one of those young women who prefer to keep to themselves most of the time. She enjoys spending time away with herself, indulging in books and the arts. When approached by a person that she has no former affiliation with, the young woman will put on a happy, polite face and try to have a conversation with them. If they do not return the conversation, she will drop her attempts and instead make an excuse about where she has to be.
With friends, Mary is a more relaxed person. She likes to laugh, though she doesn't often make jokes. Although she doesn't often gossip, she will discuss the latest scandals and news with her friends if they change the subject to the latest news.
With her family, she is the quitest of her siblings. Her parents often comment about how she is supposedly anti-social, though she likes to reciprocate intelligent conversations with her friends. Mary will smile when she is around her family, but her smiles often come out stiff. She doesn't like having to talk to her family, and prefers to be left alone with her friends or her studies.
Mary is one of those people who always tries to do the right thing. Whether this means breaking a few rules and obeying the law, it all depends on the situation. She believes there is a time and a place for breaking rules, and she will not hesitate to do so when that time is near.

{History Information}
Birthday: August 18, 1765
Birthplace: Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Family: Father: Peter Jacoby; Mother: Ann Jacoby; Sister: Lydia (14); Brother: Aiken (17)
Background: Mary Alice is the oldest daughter of Peter and Ann Jacoby. When she was two, her sister Lydia was born. Since the young woman was only two at the time, very few of her memories don't involve Lydia being alive and trailing after her. When Mary turned 14, and Lydia was twelve, Mary found thta her sister suddenly had the amazing power to be very, very annoying. She started to push away her sister, annoyed by her 'immature' behavior. However, the two have started to grow closer together as Lydia has started to become her own person.
She isn't the oldest child of the Jacobys, however. Mary has an older brother named Aiken, who prefers to spend his time out on the town, waiting for the day he can enlist in the military and earn glory. The sisters rarely talk to Aiken, since they don't have very much in common with him. Nevertheless, Aiken is always there for his sisters when they need him.

Sample RP Post:
"Hello, Mary," came a pleasant, deep male voice. As pleasant as it might have been, it still startled the brown-haired sixteen-year-old girl enough to make her drop the leather bound books she had been carrying. She immediately kneeled, and started to collect them from the road as a flush crept upon her pale complexion.
"Oh, hello, Aiken," she greeted her brother, looking up to see her older brother grinning down at her. He quickly kneeled next to her, and started to help her gather her books. Once the two had finished, he kept holding her books in his long arms and waited for his sister to start walking.
"Are you planning to go anywhere anytime today?" he asked her, smiling as they started to walk along the roads of Philadelphia. "Because if you're not, I was wondering if you could do me a favor..."
She almost sighed. Most of the time, when Aiken wanted a favor... it was something a lot more than 'a favor'. It was usually a laborous task, or one that took several days to complete. "What do you want?"
"Oh, nothing much. One of my friends is coming to visit some family in Philadelphia. I plan to take them to meet my friends, but there's one little problem... the friend has a little sister to watch. I was wondering if you would watch her for a couple hours on Wednesday." he explained, glancing hopefully over to her. Mary actually did sigh this time, and shook her head.
"Aiken... I really don't have the time. I'm sorry. Ask Lydia if she'd watch her. She'll do it if you give her some money. She wants to buy new hair ribbons, so that's a good way to tempt her."
